One of the founding principles of The Citizens Trust is that this is a society led by the members. Every paid up member is an equal shareholder and has the right to:
- Vote in Trust elections
- Attend committee meetings
- Contribute ideas to committee meetings
- Help steer the future of the Trust
The actions of the Trust are determined by what members want to do, for the benefit of the communities the Trust serves:
- Manchester City supporters
- The Trust’s members (shareholders)
- The places where Manchester City supporters and members live
This is an opportunity for members to help each other, make a positive impact in their communities and improve the lives of other Blues.
However, it also comes with a responsibility.
Because we are member-led, nothing happens without the members deciding to get involved, determine policy, allocate spending and take action in the ways they want to.
This is not a society where policy is decided by the Board and members have to take what they are given.
Final say will always rest with the members of the Trust.
The Citizens Trust is a democratic, accountable organisation that will be entirely led by its members. If the members do not get involved in the Trust, nothing will get done.
This is your society, you are a partial owner of it.
Its success or failure will rest on the combined efforts (or not) of its membership. If you want a successful Trust, join up today and get involved in the committees that interest you!
